Here at Chestnut Charlie's we are true believers in the value of tree crops and their contribution to restoring our farmlands.  Charles Mann, author of 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus, published an article in the Wall Street Journal which is well worth a read.  He explores the relative cost and value of a chestnut tree crop per acre vs a corn or soybean field.
